This stunning red velvet echeveria grows in a clay chicken-shaped planter on the south side of Pat and Phil DiGirolamo’s entryway in Livermore. It gets full sun all year round with an occasional drink of water during the hottest months. The DiGirolamos says this hardy plant doesn’t seem to mind the cold, wet weather we’ve had this year, and they are looking forward to the reddish orange flowers it will present in the spring. The pair adore this plant for its striking color scheme and the fuzzy texture on the leaves.
