Parking passes and bragging rights at stake in Brentwood’s Home of the Season

BRENTWOOD — For the next two months, the phrase “the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence” will not be uttered in the city of Brentwood as residents primp and prepare for a shot at the title in the annual June Home of the Season contest.

The Brentwood Neighborhood Committee is looking for nominations of homes that exhibit “creative and beautiful landscaping as well as overall curb appeal.”

Winners will receive a gift basket, a gift card from Delta Informal Gardeners, a special privilege parking pass at Home Depot and the most important reward of all — bragging rights in the form of a sign stating the home won the title of Home of the Season.

Homes will be judged in three overall categories: originality, which includes unique design and creative use of plants and decorations; arrangement, which focuses on display and placement of landscaping; and theme, which takes into account the overall appearance of the front yard and the “pride of ownership.”

Nominations will be taken up to June 2 and the winning home will be chosen on June 14.
